Tiger Woods is About More Than Golf

Tiger Woods

Steve Blomberg and his wife, Karen, spent the weekend of May 17th and 18th in Las Vegas attending a fundraiser for the Tiger Woods Foundation. The event called Tiger Jam featured a beach party, concert, silent auction, live auction, and post-concert reception.

This fundraiser raised nearly $1,000,000.00 for the Earl Woods Scholarship Fund, named in honor of Tiger’s late father. Over the eighteen year history of Tiger Jam, the Tiger Woods Foundation has been able to raise more than $25,000,000.00 at these events.

While members of the public have varying opinions about Tiger as a golfer, and beyond, no one can question his commitment to inner city youth. His Foundation has supported programs to give access to indigent, inner city children to computers so that they can be in a position to succeed in school and in the real world. This program has sent many bright, but low income students off to colleges including University of Indiana and Stanford University.

One of the highlights of the weekend for Steve was the opportunity to talk to Dallas Mavericks’ Owner and star of the TV show Shark Tank, Mark Cuban. Mark spoke highly of the Washington Wizards’ season and especially the back court of Bradley Beal and John Wall.

The Firm congratulates the Tiger Woods Foundation on its continued success and acknowledges it good work once again.
