GWEBLAW provides effective litigation services to both the business community and to individuals. Our attorneys are also advocates of Alternative Dispute Resolution, including Mediation and Arbitration based on the time and cost savings which these avenues can provide. The Firm will attempt to achieve a fair resolution without court intervention when possible, but stands prepared to move quickly and efficiently to court if the need arises.
Our attorneys have presented cases before administrative agencies, federal and state trial and appellate courts, as well as mediators and arbitration panels. We possess a broad range of experience in all types of business, consumer and real estate litigation, as well as landlord-tenant disputes.
In the area of collections, one of our attorneys has been a member of the National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys and can provide clients with collection assistance locally and on a nationwide basis. As one of the earliest members of this organization, the Law Firm has been active in ensuring there is a smooth, experienced network of collection attorneys available to the client for out-of-state collections. Further, the Law Firm’s attorneys not only work with the client to obtain an appropriate Judgment for monies owed either on a personal or business level, but also work to actually collect the funds since it is money, and not a paper judgment that the client is ultimately seeking.
In working with individual and business clients in enforcing contracts, including covenants not to compete, solicit or disclose, the Law Firm has developed a vast realm of experience in interpretation of contractual provisions and the rights of enforcement of the same for the seeking of both legal and equitable remedies. Where covenants not to compete, solicit or disclose are violated, the Law Firm stands ready, willing and able to seek injunctive relief in addition to monetary damages for its clients. This is especially important where the client has built a substantial business interest in its proprietary information and client base, and a party wrongfully attempts to gain access and use both for its own personal benefit. We also regularly advise individual and business clients on the enforcement of these covenants if they are the subject of the restrictions.
The Law Firm is experienced in landlord-tenant and other real estate litigation, including commercial lease disputes, boundary disputes, obtaining specific performance in the enforcement of a real estate sales contract, and claims against developers and sellers for breach of contract on the sale of buildings and homes. We have also represented clients in dealing with homeowners associations and condominium associations to ensure that the clients’ rights are protected. Steven T. Blomberg has also worked as a Mediator for these types of disputes and brings that experience to the table as an advocate for your interests.
Mr. Blomberg has also been honored with the title of “Super Lawyer” in Maryland and the District of Columbia in the area of commercial litigation on multiple occasions by Law & Politics Magazine and in 2009 and 2010 was named one of Maryland’s Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the American Trial Lawyers Association.
